My first thread!
Dumb topic, I know, but who here watches the news on TV? I'm not a news TV watcher. I prefer radio.

I do sometimes. Lately I've been following the miners story and praying for a miracle.

I heard about that. =( I hope those guys are ok. Mining is a very dangerous job. Miners deserve more respect than what they get.

I never watch the news, it's usually only about negative stuff. I hate negative. But when there's positive news, I'm all about it, telling everybody in my AIM contacts! I get over enthusiastic about it.

Positive news is a breath of fresh air ain't it. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any today.. The mine collapsed a second time and killed 3 of the rescuers.

Yeah, I saw that on the Yahoo headlines. Those poor people, just think of all the pain their families are going through.

I know. It's bad enough the 6 are missing. I was so hoping for another Que Creek story. (That's the one where all 9 survived even though the rescuers had all kinds of setbacks.) But now it's a tragedy no matter how you look at it...even if the 6 do survive...

Yeah, very sad times, with the war in Iraq and everything. Kinda glad our president isn't afraid to admit his christianity, I admire that. But in other news, or as a "breath of fresh air" (you put that quite nicely, Ruukah) I remember reading a headline on Yahoo that a group of forty kids was going to try to start a community of their own. Sounds impossible, but it sounds... Kinda cool. Whoever thought of that must have been a genius, either that, or he/she was between the ages of seven and sixteen.

What is this about kids making a community? It doesn't ring a bell.

News - There are some things that make some us stop and think about things that happen around the world . Some thing like the LA fires and how bad it was that so many people losted the homes and others did not. It make me stop and think about freinds and family that live in areas like that . Prayes for those in need out there.
