topic is pretty much what the title states...
its a mixed topic for me, pretty much. i enjoy lots of blood and violence in my movies, tv shows and video games... but then again, i dont have young kids or live with young kids (the youngest person in my household, my brother, is turning 18 soon) so it doesnt really matter what i watch or do. however, i have two friends who refuse to watch anything with an R rating because they just plain dont like violence, even though theyre 24, and guys... which is odd.
anyways, although i like violent shows, i really cant stand "real" violence. real = not fake. i know theres a lot of shows these days that like real violence and i do not know why... fake violence is ok with me because, well, its FAKE, meaning it isnt actually happening and no one is actually getting hurt or killed. i cant stomach seeing real blood at all, but you can bring on fake blood by the bucketload and ill be cool with it. to me, its obvious when its fake or real >.<
with kids under 18... im mixed about violence and blood and how much they can watch of it because, well, ive watched some pretty violent stuff as a kid myself. im a sorry victim of watching "Akira" in elementary school >_> that wasnt such a good idea... i guess it really depends on the kid. some kids handle violence and blood better than others. it also depends on the intensity of the violence. just blood alone... i dont think its bad. actual violence, like getting spikes thrust through the body of a character as they die, probably not until your 13+ (depends on the kid here, thus the +). after a kid hits 18, then anything is ok.
i have also learned to not trust rating systems with this stuff (G, PG, PG-13 for movies and E, T, and M for games). i bought a game with a T rating for blood AND THERE WASNT ANY BLOOD IN THE WHOLE GAME. i was really disappointed.
so ya, your thoughts on this stuff?
