as posted on Lilymud ^^ i just thought it was funny XD
well, gee, its 1:47 am and im being kept awake by my neighbor's fireworks yet i dont really mind. im always up this late anyways XP and fireworks is cool.
now on to what this thread is really about...
today i got a note on my door. a surprise since i dont have any friends around here and i dont really get along well with people around here. it was handrwitten and went along the lines of this (yes it was in all-caps):
well, obviously, my first reaction was that i had a sudden urge to go buy more wind chimes . there are actually quite a few really nice ones at this gift store downtown. they make such pretty sounds! i dont have a wooden one yet and i love how those sound . maybe i should get one of those next? ^^
my second reaction was confusion ?_? for one, who is this mysterious "YOUR NEIGHBOR" that left this note on my door? i have lots of neighbors... so what one was it? secondly, why are they irritated by my wind chimes? i havent actually gotten any new ones in 2 years and this "neighbor" person is just now having a problem with them? maybe they have a really horrible reaction time >.> thirdly, wind chimes arent even remotely as loud as the other neighbor's 1am fireworks or the aircraft that fly over my house 4826236 times a day (i live under a flight path) yet here he/she is, complaining about my little wind chimes? mine arent even very big and most of the time (especially at night) there isnt even enough of a wind for them to make any sounds. i guess that if this "YOUR NEIGHBOR" person wants something to complain about, i could always get more wind chimes . in all honesty, there is no such thing as too many wind chimes .
now on a more cultural note... a few of my wind chimes are actually quite old and have been passed down generation to generation through my family. my favorite is a cute little owl shaped one :3 it has the loudest ring but its the most pleasant. well, it is my Japanese heritage that has brought wind chimes into my life. from the part of Japan my family has come from, wind chimes are always put out to ring in the summer. theyre a symbol of the summer. my mom and my grandma both have quite a few wind chimes, both Japanese and ones made here in the USA . theyre all great, though . i associate their sound with many of my favorite summer memories <3 i couldnt possibly ever take them down all because some jerk finds them "irritating". sorry, but i dont take suggestions from anonymous people very well . if he really cant sleep, he should try sleeping medication or something because there hasnt been a problem with my wind chimes in the past. unfortunately, they chose to stay anonymous so i am unable to suggest that to them. this person not sleeping isnt my problem, so why are they making it my problem? im laughing at it, though LOL. anyone who knows me well would realize i dont like being told what to do, and when i find the suggestion to be silly or disagree, i have been known to do the exact opposite. i hadnt thought about buying new wind chimes in a very long time, but this has made me think about them again
dunno why i posted this... i know i found it funny somehow XD
who else loves wind chimes?
