Same as the thread in the Lion King forum, only this one is for Simba's Pride. So how 'bout it? What didn't make sense to you in the second movie? (By the way this is just for fun, I don't mean to insult Disney or pick at the movie...I liked the movie over all.) One thing I have trouble with is how Scar "hand picked" Kovu to be his heir, when Kovu is the same age as Kiara, who was born after Scar's death.. What?? lol. The only way I know to close the gap is to say that before Simba returned to Pride Rock Scar made some kind of deal with Zira that her nextborn son would be his heir. Any other ideas?

That could be possible. I always figured that with his little head tuft he has when she first meets him, that he is a little bit older then Kiara. Maybe if even by just a month or two. lol

Ah, yes, Zira may have been exaggerating when she said Kovu was hand chosen by Scar. We share the same theory, Ruukah.
One thing that irks me (and as a lot of you know, I find a whole lot of plot holes in the movies) is how Kiara can get Kovu to change, and even marry him in the span of what? A week after meeting? =/ Not right. And another thing is that the Outlanders seem to just appear out of nowhere between TLK and SP and somehow do something bad to get Simba to exile them. Maybe they were somewhere else in the Pride Lands? I don't know. And I'm also freaked out when they dissapear at Kiara and Kovu's marriage ceremony. Maybe they were... Scared? And if Kiara couldn't marry Kovu, then... Who did Simba expect her to marry??? And where did Sarabi go??? We all can agree there are a lot of plot holes in SP.

SP is a holey movie, worshiped and loved by TLK fanfic writers everywhere. i really didnt like SP. i really would like to know at what point did Simba change into such an overprotective jerk of a father? i loved Simba in TLK. he was my favorite character. SP ruined him its depressing. well, thats why sequels generally suck. they end up getting written by people who didnt work on the original :/ so duh theres gonna be a lot of bad plot holes and the characters seem so different. i didnt like Nala in SP, either. she was such a strong female character in TLK but she seemed too much like a follower in SP. hmm, maybe thats just me. i also want to know why the hyenas left and where they went. they were one of my favorite parts of the original. they were replaced with... the outlanders, who dont really make much sense at all. Nuka is obviously the oldest male so why wasnt he "chosen" by Scar or whatever? and Kovu not being Scar's son... i dont think it works within Scar's personality to choose someone not of his blood to rule after him. why Kovu was picked is beyond me. Zira and the outlanders werent in the original TLK, so where did they come from and why do they hate Simba and why did they like Scar so much? in the original TLK, there were only lionesses who hated Scar. nobody liked him. too many holes @_x

That could be! I always assumed Kovu was around the same age as Kiara, but maybe not. I'm not sure if that can account for the entire time gap, but it's an interesting point.
Exactly. That's so unrealistic...and did you also notice how quickly Vitani changed her stripes at the end? Even faster than Kovu! SP is full of shallow characters.
Wow lots of other holes too mentioned by Sunfeather!
I think that definitely has some truth in it. lol.

Yes, I think the word shallow suits the chars well in SP. I mean, why did Zira stay in the Outlands? I myself wouldn't want to live in a termite mound. I'd probably take all my followers and find a sunny field with lots of food and water and I'd settle down and create my own Pride Lands. And what's the point of vengance? Zira should have been ashamed when she heard that Scar was a murderer. But noooooo. SIMBA is the murderer!! (Even though it was the hyenas that killed Scar. I mean, Simba gave Scar a chance to run).
Nitheads. >_>

LoL!!! :')
One thing I don't get is why Kiara had to hunt alone on her first hunt without training and in the day. I heard somewhere that lionesses hunt at night, but I could be wrong, and I also heard that they hunt together. What were they thinking?

lionesses hunt in both the day and the night, but youre right about lionesses hunting as a team. its been a while since i saw SP, but didnt Kiara want to prove something to the others or am i getting that confused with something else? my memory fails me with that movie...

She was trying to prove her independence to her father. But I get the feeling this whole "first hunt" business was some sort of tradition, not just something she set out to do for the glory of it. Lionesses do hunt mostly at night and in the early morning...maybe evening too. In the heat of the day they usually find some shade and rest. Lions rest about 20+ hours a day. Now you know why I wish I was one. lol.
