Check this out. Revelation 8:10-11 says: "The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water—the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter." Now take a look at what I just read in the news: ~~~~~~~ Mystery illness strikes after meteorite hits Peruvian villageMon Sep 17, 11:23 PM ET LIMA (AFP) - Villagers in southern Peru were struck by a mysterious illness after a meteorite made a fiery crash to Earth in their area, regional authorities said Monday. Around midday Saturday, villagers were startled by an explosion and a fireball that many were convinced was an airplane crashing near their remote village, located in the high Andes department of Puno in the Desaguadero region, near the border with Bolivia. Residents complained of headaches and vomiting brought on by a "strange odor," local health department official Jorge Lopez told Peruvian radio RPP. Seven policemen who went to check on the reports also became ill and had to be given oxygen before being hospitalized, Lopez said. Rescue teams and experts were dispatched to the scene, where the meteorite left a 100-foot-wide (30-meter-wide) and 20-foot-deep (six-meter-deep) crater, said local official Marco Limache. "Boiling water started coming out of the crater and particles of rock and cinders were found nearby. Residents are very concerned," he said. ~~~~~~~ Is this the event Revelation 8 tells of? Well, no. The meteor of Revelation is the third of the trumpet judgments, and before the trumpet judgments will be seven seal judgments. This is only a small taste of what's to come. Perhaps it is a warning, and perhaps, not so "mysterious" after all. Please pray for the people of southern Peru.

Wow... I was so excited when I thought the rapture was pretty much upon us. I don't know. My theories are that the end of the world would be around 2008/ 2009. There are hints in the bible that the seven years of tribulation are before the rapture itself, and with all that's going on, the hurricanes, the tsunamis, 9/11, the war in Iraq... Well, it makes a bit of sense. I'm not saying I'm right, because I don't know that bible so well. I'm just a new believer, but yes. That is my theory.

I'm not really into rapture but it is sad that people are dying. I've never heard of mystery sicknesses from a meteorite before. I wonder what it was made out of or maybe it crashed into something to make it break and that made everyone sick. Where did you get this article? I'm curious to learn more on the event. My theories are that the end of the world would be around 2008/ 2009. I hope the world doesn't end that early. I haven't gotten to do everything I want to do in life yet.

I found the article in Yahoo! News. It was front page at about 7am, then it got drowned out by other stories later in the day. I'm sure it's still there somewhere.
Yeah I used to be Pre-Trib but now I'm not so sure. Maybe we're not supposed to know for sure.. Or maybe I should just study it a little closer.

*holds peru* that country is a piece of my heart!! I hate to think of people getting sick & dying!! *sobs* I may actually end up living there someday. I think I'm supposed to be an english teacher there. I already sponsor a little girl named Janis there, & I've gone to Lima twice now. I'm going back again in 2009 & I'll get to meet Janis! I'm so excited. About the Revelation thing, I say, at least that part's over (if it indeed was wormwood). *stomach all in knots now* ¡Viva el Perú!

I don't see how it could have been Wormwood. Wormwood will pollute 1/3 of all the earth's water and will come after some other judgments. I don't think anyone died from this either, thank God, they just got really sick. This is just a foreshadowing. Peru is in my prayers, and especially Lima, because I'm sure they're still recovering from that awful earthquake & aftershock.

yeah, that makes sense. thanks for praying for them! u don't kno how much that means to me! this morning, i had the same breakfast we had in Peru for 2 weeks. scrambled eggs w/ ham, a crossant (sp?) & a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. i had that same breakfast every morning when i was in Peru, & i missed it so much that I re-created it this morning. (sorry if i sound redundant). i know i don't live there, but somehow, whenever I'm there, I feel home. so I'm homesick. I made this pic not too long ago, & this is how I feel right now.

Wow, that picture gives me goosebumps. I know how you must feel. Have you uploaded it to TLKFAA? Maybe some people there will pray too.

"it gives u goosebumps? how?"
The expression on your fursona's face, the feeling of missing all the great people you met there. And that adorable little girl (or boy?) holding the ball. When I saw that I had to wonder how all these recent events are affecting the kids in that area.. It must be scary.. My little Leona cries whenever there's a storm sometimes, but an earthquake? A meteorite crashing into the ground? Even adults would be scared let alone the children.

I just read on Yahoo today that the meteorite itself wasn't causing people to get sick, it was fear. they called it "mass hysteria". there were no toxic gasses that were emitted from the meteorite, people were just so fearful that they made themselves sick. i'm glad it's not deadly, toxic fumes =D

Wow, yeah. That's still really strange though. I think I read that seven policemen were hospitalized because of it. Do you really think it was all in their heads?

Fear is a funny thing. I've been so afraid of something before that I felt sick from it. It doesn't happen often, though, which is a good thing. ^^;

Yeah it's possible I guess. I just have a hard time believing that so many people could be hospitalized and it turned out to be nothing. Has that ever happened before? I do hope it wasn't toxic for the peoples' sake, and I'm VERY glad no one died!
