Meh, I wasn't sure where to put this, please move it if it's not supposed to be here. I don't want anybody to RP me or anything, it's just a fanfic I've worked on for a couple of days. It's only the first chapter, so yes, read on...
A young lioness sat perched on a limb of a baobab tree, surveying the rocky land around her. In the safety of night she could see by the silver shine of the moon. Her fur was pale and silky, and her eyes were marine blue. Her teeth glimmered in the star light, blood dripped from her fangs. She was so in need of food she had eaten her own newborn cub, and she needed more. Sniffing the air she detected a new scent. It was the scent of a male lion.
Her eyes darted left and right. A twig snapped. Someone was there. She had to hide, murder was unforgivable. She quickly leaped from the limb and ran straight for the woods that bordered a ravine to her right.
She stumbled through the vines and trees, ignoring brambles and burrs that prodded and stuck in her fur. Her eyes were wild with fright and bloody saliva flew from her jaws. Though there was no one pursuing her she ran on, heedless of the low hanging branches that stabbed at her eyes.
The night was warm and she began to slow. Her paws were bleeding slightly and she was dehydrated. Her eyes were teary as pain shot through her. It was hunger like she had never experienced. She needed something, anything, how long had it been since she had eaten? She couldn’t even remember. But now she only knew one thing. Food was scarce, and she needed it now.
She limped through the woods. Now there was only one choice for the lioness; to either kill, or be killed.
...Tell me what you think.
