OOC: Wee, I'll start and we can go from there. -------------------------------------------------------------- One African morning the sun arose over the dew kissed Savannah. The sky was an orange and purple shade, gently covering the sky. The mountains stood tall and gazed over the plains. African creatures were awaking to the glorious new horizon. A white and black marked lioness walked out of a small den. She stretched slightly and yawned as the cool earth began to warm. The strange lioness walked over to the watering hole to get an early refreshment. As she lapped up some water from the small pond, a big bird flew ahead. She stood and watched with amazement as the winged creature flew across the now blue sky. She walked around as the grass gently stroked her legs. She thought to herself about all the wonderful things this day could bring. As she walked by she noticed a couple lion cubs played around their den. She decided to walk to a nearby tree to rest. When she arrived at the tree and laid down, she heard a slight rustling noise in the tall grass. She looked closer at the strange thing approaching. She could hear nothing but the small streams, and some birds around her. So she laid back down to continue her rest.

Braden's heart pounded as he crouched low in the grass, his golden coat blending well with the blades. This was his first solo mission and he was having some doubts. But he couldn't turn back without completing the task Dojo had given him. He paused and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath and clearing his mind. Then he stood and proceeded forward. "Hello," he said to the white and black lioness, now in full view. He bowed his head, remembering what he was supposed to say. "My name is Braden and I come in humility. I wish to speak to whoever owns this land."

OOC: Sorry if mine are short, I don't RP much. -------------------------------------------------------------- "Hello, my name is Nila and if you wish to speak to the owner of the land, you'll have to head up north to find him." Nila turned to face in that direction, she had an awkward expression on her face. The wind blew past and the leaves from trees flew around. "If its something important, you might want to go now." Nila looked up at the darkening sky. "We might just get some rain, we haven't had any for the last couple of days." Nila looked back at Braden and smiled. She turned around and started to walk away.

OOC: OK, here goes nothin'... ;D
---------------------------------------------
I crept carefully along the wide-reaching branches of an African tree. I'm unsure of how I arrived in Africa, but it must just fit well with whatever story I've been thrown into this time. I just hope the writer has good aim.
Ah, I'm funny, aren't I? Funny funny funny. All right, back to the tree. It was a dark and stormy night... OK, OK, it was clearly moonlit, but I couldn't resist. Seriously! Oh sheesh, I'm a mutated cheetah and I'm stealing style from a cartoon dog, how crazily unfair is that? Oops, and the posting started with sunrise, ah dude, I'm screwing everything up tonight! But I'm sure no one will mind.
Anyway, as I was saying, I balanced easily on a long horizontal branch of an African tree. The moonlight dappled the nature around me, shimmering slightly as a slight breeze rustled the leaves. I tucked my four tentacles tightly against my back, trying to be as cheetah-like as I could be in 'my' natural habitat. I bounded down from the tree, landed lightly among tall waving grasses, and dashed off across the plain. A quick glance to the east showed me the slightest orange glow on the horizon, signaling the coming of the dawn. Soon the life-giving golden light would stream down from the heavens.
Lost in thought, I realized suddenly that there was a being lying on the ground ahead of me. I skidded to a stop, and I was unable to resist using my tentacles to grab nearby plants to slow down quickly. I held my breath, waiting to see whether it would turn and see me.

Nila awoke and looked off into the bushes and saw a dark figure. She sat up, the walked over quietly and crept along until she could see the figure completely. Her eyes went big staring at such a strange creature. Nila started to walk back wards to keep her distance, but something was going through her mind to go closer to the astonishing figure. She stopped immediately to straighten her mind a little. She spoke, "Who or what the heck are you?" She blinked a couple times, and sat down.

Well, that was one of the usual reactions. Better than running in circles and screaming, I suppose. And way better than being shot at.
"I... I..." I shook my head to clear my thoughts. "My name is Flexico. I'm a cheetah... and an octopus... and I think I have some human genes too. I mean you no harm."
I started to reach a tentacle out in a gesture of peace, then thought better of it and offered a strangely hand-like paw. I swallowed hard, half-expecting a pride of lions to jump me. I didn't smell or hear anything, but I know little of the secrets of the African bush.

Nila sat back up, and she spoke, "Oh, I see now. I guess I'm pretty weird myself. I have no pupils, my eyes are just yellow." She stared at the creature in less of a shock now that she knew what it was. "Anyway, its nice to meet you Flexico. What brings you to the savannah?" She was still dumb-founded at the whole situation.

I sighed thoughtfully and gazed into the glowing sunrise. "Well, I have lived in the human world my whole life, so I decided to come into the wild for a time to learn what it's like here. I have some human friends nearby, but I assure you they won't bother anyone unless they attack me."
As I spoke, I reached up with 3 tentacles to a branch above and lifted myself up, paws dangling., twisting and flexing the fourth in front of my face, analyzing its movements. "I'm pretty sure I could handle most things that could happen, but like I said, I'm not too familiar with the bush."
I looked up to see a weirded-out expression and decided that was about enough about me. "So, what's your name? Do you live around here?"

OOC: This is a sad paragraph, D: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Ah, I see now. My name is Nila, and I live over in the small cave." Nila lifted her paw to point out the direction of the cave. "I've lived there ever sense my Father and Mother left me." Nila stared at the cave and thought of the little she knew her parents before they left. She looked at her necklace, the one her mother gave her. Nila turned to Flexico. "I've had a hard time moving on sense then." She then turned and looked out into the distance. "I didn't even get to know my Father. He left before I was born. My mother died a year after I was born. She had gotten a terrible disease. Then, right before she left me, she handed me this jewel. It has a pedal of her favorite flower encrusted inside. I keep it on a necklace so I don't lose it." Nila couldn't help herself, she looked away from Flexico and started to cry. Her tears streamed down her face and landed on the cool, and dry ground. She placed her paw on her face to cover her eyes.

I dropped from the tree, keeping my eyes on Nila. I placed my paw gently under her chin and turned her to face me. "You're not alone anymore," I whispered.

OOC: Aww, poor baby. ^^ OK, boo-hoo, could something HAPPEN soon? XD

OOC: Hmm, who knows. X3 --------------------------------------------------------- Nila looked into Flexico's eyes. "Thank you. That was something I probably needed to hear." Nila rubbed up against Flexico's neck. She looked back into Flexico's eyes and smiled.
